Another sad death I'm afraid.  Many of you will know Manuel.  Following the death of his wife Manuel came to live in his camper in Vera Camp Site.  He couldn't face going back to his home in Galicia, so he just stayed.  He used to visit all the bars in Hotel Street, he was seen regularly in Benito's, Juan Buena Mesa's, Carmen's and Frankies on a daily basis.  He always had a smile and a chat for everybody as he slowly drank his little 'canas' of beer.  It was all about the company.
Then, when it was apparent that the camp site was going to close, he was devastated.  Everybody was worried about him, he wouldn't say what he was going to do, he just got very sad. On the day the campsite closed, he reluctantly drove his little Motorhome up to Palomares, and arrived for his drink at Monikas.  He met lots of his friends that he knew from Vera Playa.  He could no longer get his exercise 'doing the rounds' of bars, so he just stayed at Monika's all day, but with the daily diet of Monika's hearty menu del dia, he actually looked hale and hearty for a couple of years, and he made many more friends in Palomares, including some of the local Spanish guys with whom he became great friends and shared his table in the corner for various parts of the day.
Apparently he's not been very well at all for the last month, and unfortunately he died sometime between Paco dropping him off at night, and collecting him in the morning, on Monday night / Tuesday morning,  in his Motorhome.  He will be sorely missed, but let's hope he is at peace.
Our thoughts are with all his friends at Vera Playa - keep us informed when he is to be laid to rest, we'll stop and raise a glass to Manuel wherever we are, and know that many people will be doing the same. xx
Happy owners and winter residents at Vera Playa, our piece of Naturist Paradise.

So so sad to hear of Manuel's passing. How well he looked without his beard and long hair which he gave up for MACS at Brian's charity night in Monikas, seems like only yesterday. Another lovely man has left us but will remain in our hearts.
