Today Spain have zero deaths from Corona, Ireland just two... situation getting better every day. I believe late July and August restriction will finish.. Sorry for so many deaths all over the world, but life go on... Like Scarlett O'Hara says "After all, tomorrow is another day!"

Alicante is a good option. I believe it has more international flights than Almeria

We nearly always fly to Alicante. Reasons are:

Many more flights from Bristol, 2 EasyJet and 1 RyanAir, and it's generally cheaper than flying to Murcia
Car hire is cheaper
It's only 1/2 hour longer to drive

Two more reasons in favour of Alicante.....

For a coffee and a fine  cake choice before or after landing, also do snacks to take on flight (pizza slices, and maybe more) Only 5 minutes out of the way in Torrellano

And if you have more time for lunch try Las Palmeras in Crevillente...Menu del Dia at 3 courses, 12 euro very swish surroundings,  menu typical spanish lunch....

In case anyone thinks of going further away, Cap d'Agde has a "worrying" surge in cases of Covid 19.
