First time
« on: July 18, 2010, 01:18:39 AM »
We are a couple from the Netherlands and we will stay in Vera Playa from 6 till 21 sept. This will be our first naturist holiday and we are looking forward to it! Does anybody have some things to know for us about a stay at Vera Playa.  Are there some things organised at the beach perhaps a volleyballgame or something else.
Greetings Pete and Rose

There is volleyball on the beach near to Tiggers all through summer.  I imagine there will also be volleyball in front of Vera Natura Chiringuito - but you are arriving at the end of the Spanish Holiday season, so you may miss out.  I am afraid the boules may not start till late September.  If it does start earlier it begins at 13:00, Sunday, be there earlier to register, its 1E per person.

Next week we will be in Vera Natura and we would like to know if there is still something going on in the area. Is it still busy on the beach and in the park? Are the beachbars crowded? We like to have a drink and a chat at the bar :D and of course to watch people and to be watched.  ;)

This will be our first naturist holiday and we are looking forward to it!

I've counted it up, and next week will be our 17th time in the past twenty years that we'll have been to VP (15th, in the case of my better half, due to her missing the last couple due to other life events). This time, for the first time ever, will be beyond the confines of the hotel and in an urba.

And, do you know, there is still a nervousness, a trepidation, about each visit.

It's the same every year. 'Ooh, we're too pale/wobbly/shy/got a scar. We don't think we can do it. Imperfect bodies. Ooh, let's cancel. Well, let's not go nude. Well, let's just ease our way into it over a couple of days'.

Always, always, always the same in the corresponding week prior to travelling.

And then we arrive and, within minutes, it's 'just leave the damned unpacking, come on, the pool closes in ten minutes and we can have a quick dip before the sun goes down'. And that's always, always, always the same, too.  :D

Maybe some of you feel different about it, and never think about the whole going nude thing at all, and we may be slightly different in that respect, having that sense of apprehension year after year. Maybe some of you would like to comment on that?

The moral is, in VP, it's the most relaxed, laid back, easy going and natural holiday I can imagine, and it is merely a pity that the attitudes in VP and the positive, life-affirming vibe aren't reflected in wider (and textile) society.

So,  Pete and Rose, the moral is that, regardless of what activities are or aren't on, there's a whole new feeling regarding life that can be soaked up, and that in itself is an activity worth doing for the duration of your holiday.

I hope you both have a terrific time, and make it the first on many returns to VP, with each one offering new experiences and experiences, some which even endure over a couple of decades.

We have been staying at the vp hotel on and off for the last 18 years, seen a lot of changes, but this year for the first time  an apartment at natsun . We are club naturist and are looking forward to being nude as much as possible and if we like the apartment life , we are hoping to winter there 2012.

We're there, 4-11, so perhaps we'll bump into you at some time.

Sincerely, we feel you will come alive in VP.

If we could move there tomorrow, for the rest of our days, we would!

In a world filled with rules, regulations, demands, orders, expectations, VP (and the surrounding area) offers the opportunity to reject it all.

From the artists' community up in Mojacar (essential visit!) to the naturists down in VP's Zona Naturista, it's a rejection of society's 'rules' and for us, a chance to plug into what an essentially short life is all about.

Each time we visit, it reaffirms our faith in human nature, and the essential 'goodness' in everyone. Helpful, friendly, relaxed, it's the exact opposite to what day to day living often represents. Sorry to sound so 'philosophical' about it, but that's the wonderful reality of VP

Well, the very first time we came to Vera Playa we fell in love with the place and bought our first apartment - within about 3 days!  It's a decision we've never regretted for one second.  In those days we came out on holiday - retirement seemed a long way off, but now we're here for virtually all of the winter, returning to the UK to catch up with family and friends in the summer - and of course doing our trips in Northern Europe.  Vera Playa is a very special place - which is why we were driven to set up this 'alternative website / forum' to reflect all the good things and warmth that the vast majority of visitors and residents find here in Vera Playa.  I often think it's the perfect place to try naturism for the first time - no pressure, very few rules and regulations, and lots of kind, out-going, sociable and relaxed people to spend time with.  So we're sure you'll have a ball, and your first time experience will be first of many.

We are now 14 days home :( from our magnificant holiday! :D It was a great experience staying for the first time on a naturist resort. It was so relaxed everybody was so easy going. The apartment was very comfortable. we already recommended it to some friends of us and they will perhaps go there next year.
Our conclusion is that our future holidays will be naturist!! And next year we will go to an other country and look if there is a posibility to spend our holiday the naturist way.
If there are members with a good suggestion for us where to spend our holiday please send a mail

So glad you enjoyed Vera Playa. If you can bear not to visit VP next year I would suggest the Vritomartis Hotel on Crete. It is a really well run hotel and you can rent a bungalow. It is always half-board and reasonably priced out of the main holiday season. The visitors are from many countries and the hotel is Greek owned and run. The nearby beach is pebbles but you can walk naked to it - about a kilometer maybe less. The hotel arranges a nude cruise every week either to Gavdos Island - the southernmost point in Europe or along the coast to other beaches. You will find the details on their website. Ken
