This is a great place to start  :D
The registration feels easy to do.. and does not demand a great knowledge of forum sites.
We might want to think of a suggest this site to a friend button...

I'll keep tinkering.. and let you know what I find

Hey, looks great!  Will take time to do 'welcome' post soon - BREAKING NEWS - an injury at the Sol Y Luna has called a halt to practice for the show!  Am on my way to see if I can help out.

Happy owners and winter residents at Vera Playa, our piece of Naturist Paradise.

ohhh dear do hope it is nothing serious... but I suspect that the winter show will need to be added to the same category as sky-diving for insurance purposes...

interesting
shortcuts: hit alt+s to submit/post or alt+p to preview
does not seem to work in Firefox... shall tinker in Chrome and IE later

That all looks technical!  Seemed to be a hip injury at Sol Y Luna!  Rehearsals going as always, chaotic!  It'll all be alright on the night, Break a leg!  Got nice raffle prize from Carmen, Menu for 2 and bottle of wine - hope we win that - tin of Quality Street from Frankie's - Home made pork pie from Blue Parrot - going well!

Okay,  time to make a post.  Thanks, Alan, for starting this new forum, I really hope it will be a success - we really need an open, un-biased, honest forum without point scoring and censorship, that people will enjoy participating in!  I really hope that lots of people will register and read, and some will post - but I know you won't regard people who just read as not important.  If you have nothing to say, don't talk! It's not a weakness! So welcome everybody and anybody,  please post, if you want to, but if not, just read and enjoy!  I hope the website will become an acknowledged source of good quality, up to date information for all lovers of Vera Playa, from lots of perspectives.  So come on, participate, post, enjoy, read.
Happy owners and winter residents at Vera Playa, our piece of Naturist Paradise.

well put... those that read are as valuable as those that contribute.  Open and honest contributions must always be welcome even if you personally disagree.  However rude, liablelous and deflamitory comments should be monitored, as this could distort the aims and goals of the forum as a whole.

:o)

TonyLynne,

As we are trying to have a forum with more liberal attitudes I hope that the members will have some sense as to sensibilities of others hence this quote from my original posting "please have respect for other members" let's hope we don't have to do too much monitoring. :)

Hi All, Welcome Alan as webmaster, the forum looks good for the future, Gill and I have been frequenting the Vera Playa for about five years now and really enjoy the company of the people there and the location itself of course.
I have enquired about the injured one ay Son Y Luna, she has been taken to the Huercal Overa Hospital, no news of any result yet. I will post another note when I know more. Take care all. Regards, John Furley.

Congratulations on the new website! We are new to this forum lark so forgive us if we make mistakes! It is a really good idea to have a positive outlook of VP portrayed and it is a good opportunity to advertise the charity work like the concert next thurs and other events that are happening.

Hi all. Jan the injured one, nothing broken thank goodness, diagnosed as a badly strained muscle, I've done it myself in the distant past, very painful. Rest with feet up is the word from the hospital doctors. Regards, John.

This is a copy of the posting I made on www.veraplaya.info, to attempt to explain why we have set up this alternative website and forum.  I really don't want to play politics - I love Vera Playa and want to share my thoughts with like minded people!
"It's very difficult, as an optimistic person - to keep posting on a forum that has a pessimistic feel!  Don't ask me to describe why - but somehow Indalo sums it up!  That is why we have decided to write an alternative website and forum!  We won't be threatening to close the forum on a regular basis.  We won't mind at all if somebody wants a bit of information or advice that may be readily available elsewhere, if you have more IT savvy or have spent more time on research.  It will just be about 'chatting'. It will be warm and welcoming, even for beginners!  It might not be quite as slick as this one (ie veraplaya.info) - but more information is not necessarily too much information - and there is plenty of room in Cyberspace for all of us!
And it won't be 'commercial' from the point of view of only having links to our apartments - we are really doing quite nicely, thank you!  It will eventually have links to bars, restaurants, and loads of other information. We will be telling people what's going on and where - because a Vera Playa without the range of bars and restaurants would be a much poorer plece, not just for our visitors, but also for us, and we live here for half of the year!  If something offends you, deal with it! Pick up litter, do the relevant reports to the relevant authorities, don't just fester and complain about paying your rates.  Be pro-active or reactive, not inactive and moaning!"
