PUBLIC TRANSPORT TRAVEL INSTRUCTIONS to VERA PLAYA from ALMERIA AIRPORT
NB All information is correct at the time of writing, no liability can be accepted for Inaccuracies as bus companies change schedules without notice. Web site details are given below.
At the present time, Almeria Airport is being redeveloped. There are NO toilets in the Arrivals area. If required, use the ones in the baggage reclaim area. The only refreshments are some machines dispensing hot and cold drinks outside the door from Arrivals.
Come out of arrivals, to your left, just before the car park exit, there is a bus stop which only one route uses (Route 20) which takes you to Almeria City. However, beware that not all buses on route 20 go to the city. The correct ones show ?Ca?ada, Centro? as the last destinations. (Sometimes ?centro? is referred to as ?centr?). The other buses on Route 20 are going in the opposite directionand will have ?Centro? as the first destination. If in doubt ask the driver ? ?Al Centro? ?
The fare is 95centimos and the driver will give change up to a 10euro note. The buses normally run every 50 minutes during weekdays and takes between 35 and 40 minutes. .
The bus has a display showing the name of the next stop (Pr?xima parada). The stop to get off the bus, is called ?Estacion Intermodal?. As you approach, you will see the train station in front of you. The bus station is a whiter newish building to the left of the train station. Please note, all bus stops are request stops, it is safer to press the red button for next stop requested rather than relying on the driver spotting your intentions. (The button does not make a noise).
Bus stations in Spain, including Vera, have toilets and at least one bar serving food and drinks.
You can book tickets in advance with Alsa Bus Company online at www.alsa.es. If you do not, after entering the bus station go to the ?ALSA? ticket office and buy a ticket to VERA (pronounced BEARER) (single is ?Ida Solo?, return is ?Ida y vuelta?). The information desk just inside the entrance to the bus station will tell you which platform (parada) you will need. (the platforms are laid out in a ?U? shape and the Vera Buses normally use stops at the bottom of the ?U?. NB Your ticket will have allocated you to a particular seat (asiento).
At Vera Bus Station get off and wait for a Baraza bus, route 2. (or if you prefer, there are normally taxis waiting ? Vera Playa is about 12 euros). If you take the bus, you wish to alight at Roundabout for Vera Natura (Redonda De Vera Natura).
Having got off the bus, follow separate instructions to get to your specific urbanisation.
